The 9th Asia-Pacific Housing Forum

The Asia-Pacific Housing Forum is a biennial conference organized by Habitat for Humanity to bring together stakeholders engaged in finding inclusive and innovative solutions for shelter issues and in promoting affordable housing as a driver of economic growth. The 9th Asia-Pacific Housing Forum is held in cooperation with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. It will be held on 26-27 October 2023 in Suwon, South Korea.

The APHF9 theme, "Enabling sustainable and affordable housing in informal settlements", highlights the need for inclusive cities that cater to and address the increasing challenges faced by informal ecosystems. The Forum has four main forum tracks: Adequate Housing in Informal Settlements, Financing and Affordable Housing, Climate Change and Affordable Housing, and Addressing the Rising Challenges in Housing.

The Housing Forum features successful, evidence-based interventions in the region related to resilient cities and communities, innovative housing solutions and technologies, financing and advancing sustainability in the affordable housing sector.

Since the inaugural forum in 2007, the event has brought together over 12,000 participants from across Asia-Pacific and beyond. The forum is also supported by UN-Habitat, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Hilti Foundation, Centre for Urban and Regional Excellence, EU SWITCH-Asia, and the University of New South Wales.

A series of side events that include a Youth Assembly, Business Assembly, and Innovations Awards will be held in conjunction with the main Housing Forum. In the lead-up to the Forum, preliminary events will be held in Nepal, Tonga, Indonesia, Fiji, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam from April to September 2023.
